Ford Ranger FX4 special edition adds some dark appeal

FORD'S success story Ranger ute is set to become even more desirable with the introduction of an FX4 special edition this month.

Based on the specification-heavy XLT four-wheel drive double-cab ute, the Ranger FX4 specials add a $3500 premium over normal XLTs, with the manual model costing $58,915 and the auto $61,115.

You'll be the bad-boy standout at the work site though.
Included are 18-inch Stark Grey alloys, and black for the roof rails, bonnet, tailgate, sports bar, rear bumper, side steps and door handles.
You also score leather-accented seats and a few black highlights inside. Ford's latest (and we've found quite excellent) SYNC3 infotainment platform is included, while you can choose between Frozen White, Ingot Silver, Magnetic and Shadow Black body colours, the latter three incurring an extra charge.

Ford shifted an incredible 36,934 Rangers in Australia last year (making it the fourth best-selling car of 2016 behind only the Toyota HiLux, Toyota Corolla and Hyundai i30), which was a mighty year-on-year increase of more than 26%.
The Ranger FX4 arrives at Ford dealerships this month.
